Segra Stadium - Fayetteville Woodpeckers

Anchored by the Houston Astros’ decision to call Fayetteville home for their Class A-Advanced Minor League team, downtown Fayetteville underwent a major transformation. The opportunity to build a first-class ballpark, Segra Stadium, at the heart of a sports and entertainment mixed-use development was crucial to the economic growth of the city.

This truly modern ballpark offers an array of seating options from traditional berm seating to high end suites to a special area with tiered rocking chair seating. Families can enjoy the kid-zone while young adults grab happy hour after work at the bar in right field. To support a desire for a truly year-round entertainment venue, Henderson Engineers designed an energy efficient LED field lighting system for night games, a sound system supported by a 1600A show power electrical distribution system for concerts, and helped map out critical Wi-Fi access point locations and pathways to keep fans connected.

Completing Segra Stadium required close coordination between the stadium’s design team and the adjacent mixed-use development’s team. As part of the stadium design team, Henderson worked diligently to keep the project on its fast track schedule by coordinating locations and capacities of site utilities including electrical, wastewater and sewer, domestic water, natural gas, and fire suppression with the City of Fayetteville and the private development design team.

Thanks to the vision of city and team leaders, Fayetteville fans and visitors now have options to stay, eat, and catch a game, all in one spot.
