Practice Facility & Headquarters - Las Vegas Aces

Women’s sports reached a historic milestone with the completion of the Las Vegas Aces Practice Facility & Headquarters which marks the first facility in the 27-year history of the WNBA built exclusively for a women’s professional basketball team. Located in Henderson, Nevada, this groundbreaking project redefines what a dedicated training environment can be for elite athletes.

The goal for the new Aces facility was to combine performance and innovation with player and staff comfort, creating a built environment where championships can be made.

The project transformed an existing building shell into a state-of-the-art complex, requiring precise coordination to integrate advanced systems within fixed spatial and structural constraints. Henderson Engineers provided the design for multiple systems including the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, acoustics, audio-visual, lighting, telecom, and security services.

The 64,000-square-foot facility includes two full basketball courts, locker and film rooms, a weight and training area, cryotherapy and hydrotherapy zones, and team lounges. Cutting-edge technology powers every corner of the building, from iPad-controlled LED scoreboards to customizable sound and video systems. The space also includes retractable seating for more than 400 spectators and a U-shaped balcony for enhanced visibility.

Henderson designed specialized HVAC systems to maintain optimal comfort in high-performance areas, along with a robust electrical infrastructure to support extensive lighting, broadcast, and training equipment. Careful attention to acoustics and sound control ensures a quiet, focused environment across all zones.
