Henderson Engineers Venue Practice Director/Senior Vice President Kevin Lewis was interviewed by 41 Action News KSHB – the NBC affiliate in Kansas City – sharing the firm’s contributions as engineer-of-record at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The unprecedented stadium and entertainment district recently opened in Inglewood, California, and is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL.
The Henderson team provided acoustics, audio-video, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, security, and telecom design services for the one of the largest and most innovative sports and venue projects ever. Henderson led the building systems design for the stadium’s club spaces, suites, VIP areas, press box, concessions, locker rooms, and underground parking. The Henderson systems support a translucent roof canopy that shelters the stadium from natural weather elements. Henderson also provided engineering design at the Hollywood Park performance venue, which is connected to SoFi Stadium. More than 100 Henderson employees worked on the game-changing venue, dating all the way back to 2014.
SoFi Stadium is recognized as the first ever indoor-outdoor stadium, and Henderson partnered with HKS (architect), Walter P Moore (structural engineer), and the Turner-AECOM Hunt Joint Venture (contractor) to form the design team.
Lewis was also recently highlighted in Mondo | Stadia Magazine – a leading international publication for technology in sporting venues – in a SoFi Stadium feature.
