BD+C Interviews Henderson Principal About the Future of Retail

Building Design + Construction Magazine

Jason Wollum, retail practice director at Henderson Engineers, was recently interviewed by Building Design + Construction (BD+C) magazine for an article detailing the future of retail following the COVID-19 pandemic’s impacts on the industry.

Wollum, who oversees building systems design for some of the country’s leading retailers, briefly discussed medtail, the long-running trend of medical providers taking over empty retail spaces. He also gave his predictions on the growth of micro-distribution centers within retail stores to support the increase of online shopping. Lastly, he touched on the importance of data and a cohesive online and in-person consumer experience when building customer loyalty.

The article, titled “The Fate of Retailing Rests on the Ease of Shopping,” can be found on pages 48 to 50 in the current issue of BD+C. For a free digital copy, visit https://www.bdcnetwork.com/issue/julyaugust-2021.

BD+C also ranked Henderson as the #2 Top Retail Sector Engineering Firm as part of its 2021 Giants 400 report, which lists the top architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms based on revenue earned during the previous calendar year.
