Vista Ridge High School Addition - District 49

With more than 25,000 students, District 49 is the fastest growing school district in Colorado. Located in Colorado Springs, Vista Ridge High School serves 1,200 students. With enrollment numbers growing, the district elected to construct a new wing of the high school to accommodate the increase in students.

The new wing focuses on career and technical education (CTE) program-based learning. The CTE center will prepare students for post-secondary opportunities in various fields, including agriculture, engineering, skilled trades, finance, hospitality, and health science. All students will have the opportunity to earn certifications, internships, and experiences in numerous pathways ranging from medical certifications, drone licensing, engineering fabrication classes, business, family consumer science, broadcast journalism, cyber security, and numerous classes in-between. This two-story, 35,000 SF addition features 18 classrooms and will increase the school’s capacity by about 450 students.

This unique building had varying design needs tailored to the school’s education requirements, which are flexible as the school evolves in the future. An expedited timeline required the team to work in close collaboration to bring this project to completion on schedule.
