Skip Viragh wanted to leave a gift to the high school that gave so much to him. Skip passed away in 2003 and in 2011, his wish became a reality. The Skip Viragh Center for the Arts opened at Chaminade College Preparatory, a Catholic school for boys in sixth through twelfth grades.
Henderson Engineers partnered with CCP to design Skip’s legacy project. The Center has a 1,000-seat auditorium and smaller 160-seat theater. We designed the AV, sound and noise control systems, as well as room acoustics. There are rehearsal and individual practice rooms in the Center, broadcast studios, as well as classrooms. In addition, the drama, music, visual arts, and communications departments reside in the building. Our team was honored to help Skip “do something special” for CCP and leave a legacy that supports and cultivates the unique talents of future students.
