College football championships are built long before gameday. So it’s no surprise that soon after completing their new football operations facility, the Clemson Tigers successfully clinched the 2019 BCS National Championship.
From a grand lobby featuring treasured trophies and a replica of the historic “hill” to numerous amenities through the facility, the owners and design team thought of everything. The facility includes a mix of spaces to enhance gameday training and provide the ability relax on days off, including a bowling alley, players’ lounges, weight room, theater, miniature golf course, gaming area, and dining hall. Because of the amount of high traffic areas, Clemson was sensitive to the distraction extraneous noises could play throughout the facility. Henderson Engineers helped find ways to mitigate sound by providing aesthetic solutions with enhanced sound isolation properties from floor to ceiling throughout the building. Special attention was placed on player meeting rooms and coaches’ offices to ensure outside noise wasn’t a distraction in these key planning areas. So, when players are bowling in the lounge directly below the head coach’s office, a special noise control ceiling ensures the office remains a quiet place to meet and strategize.
Henderson also provided state-of-the-art security throughout the space, including video surveillance and access control. Special fingerprint access for the players and coaches lets them maintain exclusive admittance to their space and its commemorative valuables without the need to keep track of access cards on busy training days. To support all of the high-tech spaces and the need for uninterrupted Wi-Fi connection for studying in between training sessions and team meetings, Henderson also created an integrated telecommunications system throughout the building.
Built to capture the tradition and legacy of Clemson football, the Allen N. Reeves Football Complex is #allin as the largest exclusive college football training facility in the nation and is ready to propel teams to continued national success.
