North Kansas City High School Renovation - North Kansas City SD

For more than 80 years, North Kansas City High School (NKCHS) has been the heart of education in Kansas City’s Northland. Providing relevant, rigorous, and innovative educational opportunities for students has always been at the school’s core. Henderson Engineers provided building systems design services for the renovation of this landmark school.

E-learning classrooms, a performing arts auditorium, and music rooms that deliver superior acoustics, were part of the renovation. In addition, indoor athletics and commons areas, as well as a library media center equipped with the latest technology. The high school remained open during the estimated 18-month construction process. Now that it’s complete, the NKCHS faculty and 1,700 students are able teach and learn in high-efficiency and cutting-edge classrooms that stay true to the school’s decades-long educational tenants.
