Kansas City Young Audiences Kansas City Young Audiences

As one of the region’s largest non-profits specializing in arts education, the Kansas City Young Audiences is redefining the meaning of enhancing creativity, cultivating new ideas and shaping the way we see the world. KCYA is certainly an advocate for STEM education in schools — science, technology, engineering and math. But the non-profit has built a legacy using art as a way to make a difference in a child’s life. Like Henderson Engineers, the non-profit understands a complete childhood education includes the arts — or STEAM.

We had a chance to experience the creative and home-like setting of the KCYA when our team designed their building renovation. The outcome was pure green. The renovated KCYA space is now certified LEED, recognized for being a creative and sustainable environment. As engineers, Henderson certainly supports the tenants of STEM. But as a community partner, we know every well-rounded education is powered by STEAM.
