Innovation, advancement, and design that benefits the public good are some of the hallmarks of Kean University’s Robert Busch School of Design. The program prepares students for careers in
architecture, as well as industrial, interior, advertising, and graphic design.
Kean wanted to house the Busch School in a structure that fostered creativity and fresh thinking. The Green Lane Building is an undulating mix of glass, stone and brick, and is the new home of the Kean design program.
Henderson Engineers provided the mechanical, electrical, security, plumbing, acoustics and lighting for the modern six-story building. Spaces included in the project were the auditorium – which included curved projection screens, acoustic enhancements and other cutting-edge features, retail and restaurant spaces, classrooms and administrative offices, design studios, a student lounge, and event space with a rooftop terrace for taking in views of New York City.
The Green Lane Building is an icon of the Kean University campus. It’s a symbol in the community for innovation, creativity, and designing for good.
