Henderson Senior VP Honored with Professional Progress Award from K-State Engineering

Henderson Engineers Senior Vice President/Sports Practice Director Kevin Lewis received a Professional Progress Award from the Kansas State University Carl R. Ice College of Engineering on April 13. The annual honor was presented to 10 alumni for their professional career accomplishments during the first 20 years following their graduation. Lewis is a 2000 graduate of K-State with a degree in mechanical engineering.

For the past 18 years, Lewis has developed, managed, and designed high-profile arenas, stadiums, and practice facilities nationwide. With a focus on furthering sustainability in the sports industry, he has managed the design of more than a dozen LEED-certified sports projects.

Lewis originally joined Henderson in 2004 and has led the venue practice team to exponential growth since then. At his alma mater, he has worked on the Ice Family Basketball Center and Vanier Family Football Complex and Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium North End Zone. In 2015, he was instrumental in securing the largest sports project in the history of the firm — the Los Angeles Stadium & Entertainment District at Hollywood Park, future home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football League.

Lewis was promoted to senior vice president in 2016. He joined Henderson Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President Dave Haake as a recipient (2009) of the Professional Progress Award from K-State Engineering.
