While beneficial in instances such as historic preservation, grandfathering can come at the expense of safety, potentially jeopardizing people’s well-being. Francisco DeHoyos, plumbing technical director at Henderson Engineers and an industry veteran since 1989, penned a recent article on this subject for ASPE, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.
