Henderson Acoustics Expert Explains Stadium Shaking Phenomenon

The Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers playoff game at Soldier Field during the 2025-2026 NFL season was so loud that some attendees reported feeling the stadium shake. FOX 32 Chicago connected with acoustics expert Kevin Butler, venue sector practice manager at Henderson Engineers, to shed light on the phenomenon.  

Kevin, a Henderson veteran since 2013 who has contributed to the design of multiple stadiums and arenas, shared insights into why large venues physically respond to crowd noise and what these vibrations mean from a safety perspective.
