Eisler Family Earns Legacy Award From UMKC Alumni Association

Henderson Engineers Vice President Sean Eisler and his family will receive the 2018 Legacy Award from the UMKC Alumni Association, it was announced Thursday. The Eisler – Ferguson family includes more than a dozen UMKC graduates spanning two generations. Eisler began his career at Henderson in 1993, shortly after graduating from the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

“Sean has been a tremendous leader at our firm for more than 24 years. He is a strong ambassador for his alma mater, which has kept us close with the largest university in Kansas City,” Henderson President and CEO Rich Smith said. “Congratulations to the Eisler – Ferguson family on a well-deserved honor, and thank you to the UMKC Alumni Association for the continued relationship between our organizations. We are proud to employ more than 30 UMKC graduates at Henderson Engineers throughout the country.”

Throughout his career, Eisler has been active in promoting UMKC’s School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) events within Henderson and was instrumental in securing a multiyear scholarship from Henderson for SCE students.

Eisler serves as a mechanical technical leader and is deeply passionate about mentoring Henderson’s designers and non-technical staff to become future leaders. Over his career, he has impacted many of Henderson’s employees by leading design teams, by serving as a member of Henderson’s quality control group, and by taking time to educate new employees about the business and industry. He is also on the board of the Henderson Foundation, leading the firm’s give back efforts through his commitment to philanthropic work and as an advocate for helping those in need.

The Eisler – Ferguson family will be formally honored at the Alumni Awards Gala June 15 at the James C. Olson Performing Arts Center on the UMKC campus.
