Medical Gas — What Should Architects Know?

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will discuss a variety of items that every architect should be aware of which will lead to the medical gas system being installed in such a manner that promotes patient well-being and safety. Utilizing industry “lessons learned” and code sections, hopefully we can help eliminate some of the most common (and costly) mistakes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand why proper medical gas installation is important.
  2. Learn the proper steps that design teams should take during early design for proper medical gas installation.
  3. Understand common coordination items that need to occur during design.
  4. Discuss and understand hurdles that must be overcome in order for a medical gas system and healthcare facility to become licensed.
