This study looked at three different sites and the performance of this confidential clients cashierless convenience markets designed projects. The factors studied included envelope improvements, skylights for daylighting, green roof, mechanical system alternatives, kitchen electrification and Low-GWP refrigeration system analysis. These betterments were also tested in combination to gauge the overall impact of the proposed changes to the prototype design. The results were compared to the code baseline (Washington 2015) and an ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Appendix G baseline as a means to compare performance. A key element in the results was looking at projected carbon emissions using NREL Cambium data set for future grid emissions. Betterment results demonstrated a significant reduction in emissions over a 2040 timeline, especially when considering all-electric design alternatives.
