Master Plan Phase 2 - Tampa International Airport

To enhance passenger flow and experience, Tampa International Airport (TPA) dedicated $187 million to double its number of curbside lanes from 16 to 32 over a five-year period. The project represents the second phase of the airport’s $2 billion master improvement plan and includes a new central plant to create space for passenger circulation at the curbside. The plant is highly visible and includes feature lighting.

The new set of dedicated lanes will create convenience by forming separate dedicated lanes for passengers who need to load or unload checked baggage from those that have simple carry-ons. This transformational undertaking will allow travelers to come and go in a matter of seconds without getting their route interrupted by traffic, other groups of travelers, or slower-moving individuals carrying large amounts of luggage. TPA is being recognized internationally for its innovation associated with the new curbsides.
