During the ASHRAE Annual Conference in Kansas City, Henderson Engineers Mechanical Technical Leader Kelley Cramm received the organization’s Exceptional Service Award. The honor recognizes individuals who have continued to serve the association faithfully and with exemplary effort. With more than 35 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design, Cramm has spent much of her career working on technically-challenging projects such as laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities, continually elevating the industry by sharing her expertise. She is also a frequent speaker at national, industry-acclaimed conferences such as ASHRAE.

Cramm has served on numerous ASHRAE technical committees throughout her career, including Technical Committee 9.1, Large Building Air Conditioning Systems since 2005, for which she is also a past chair. This committee is responsible for several standards and guidelines as well as the first five chapters of the ASHRAE Systems and Equipment Handbook.

Since 2011, Cramm has been a member of Technical Committee 9.10 that focuses on laboratory systems and is concerned with HVAC components and their use within laboratory spaces. Addressing the unique requirements for all types of labs, Cramm and her counterparts on the committee are responsible for the handbook chapter on lab design and the ASHRAE Laboratory Design Guide.

Cramm joined Henderson in 2007 and has been a trusted technical leader and expert throughout her tenure with the firm. She has taught Fundamentals of Planning and Design of Modern Labs for Tradeline, Inc. and is a past member of the engineering division for the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Landscape Architects.

Also during the ASHRAE Annual Conference, Cramm was officially installed as a new Director-at-Large on the organization’s national board of directors.
