Henderson Associate VP Earns 40 Under 40 Recognition from Consulting-Specifying Engineer

Henderson Engineers Associate Vice President for Learning & Leadership Development Angie Grant earned a spot on the prestigious 40 Under 40 list from Consulting-Specifying Engineer. The 40 Under 40 award is presented to 40 nonresidential professionals ages 40 and younger who stand out among their peers in a host of personal and professional aspects in their lives.

Candidates were nominated by a colleague or mentor and judged by industry experts based on nine areas of consideration, including their commitment to superiority in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement endeavors. Grant will be honored at a ceremony in Chicago this October.

Recently elevated to her current role at Henderson Engineers, Grant focuses on creating a holistic and consolidated learning and leadership education strategy to engage the entire organization in continuous learning and development. In this position, she evaluates the effectiveness of all learning and development programs, support, and training processes offered by Henderson, to ensure consistency companywide.

Grant is also responsible for co-founding Henderson’s dedicated women’s network, Empow[HER], with the mission to help propel women within the company through connections, collaboration, and continuous development. Under her continued leadership, the group has grown exponentially in terms of visibility and involvement, across the company and industry.

Passionate about leadership development, Grant was selected to be a part of the inaugural class of Henderson’s Leadership Academy. The program, which she now directs, is designed to build, grow, and provide opportunities for future Henderson leaders. A 2018 graduate of the Centurions Leadership program — the premier professional development organization in Kansas City — Grant completed more than 100 hours of community service during her two-year term. She is a leader with the Women’s Intersport Network (WIN for KC) of the Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation, has served as an ACE Mentor to high school students in Olathe, Kansas, and North Kansas City, Missouri, participated in the Expanding Your Horizons program and volunteers her time and expertise at Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day with the KC STEM Alliance, Smart City, and Canstruction with Harvesters.

Grant’s selection marks the third straight year a Henderson employee has earned the 40 Under 40 distinction from Consulting-Specifying Engineer.
