Airports International magazine recently connected with James Dietz, aviation practice director at Henderson Engineers, following the grand opening of the $1.5 billion New Terminal at Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The resulting story focuses on the Henderson-designed all-electric system that powers operations at the new facility, which spans approximately 1,000,000 square feet and is the largest ever infrastructure project in Kansas City history. Dietz provided in-depth insights into the workings of the system, which contributed to MCI becoming the first and largest LEED v4 GOLD BD+C: NC certified terminal/concourse project in the Midwestern United States and just the second in the entire United States.
