Rich Smith

Level-headed, passionate, strategic, open-minded – those are just a few of the words that come to mind when we think of Rich, our president and CEO. With more than 34 years of experience, and the last 26 of those being at Henderson Engineers, Rich has been intimately involved with the growth and success of our firm at all levels. As CEO, Rich is responsible for setting the company’s overall strategic vision and purpose, building our corporate culture, improving internal and external communication, and fostering leadership engagement. Whether it’s his special way of turning negatives into positives, or his natural ability to incite enthusiasm without even trying, he’s been our fearless leader since 2013.

What sets him further apart is his ability to connect with people on a level most wouldn’t think possible for someone in his position. He can ask pointed questions, listen carefully, and ignite productive conversation – which is just one of many reasons he’s had so much success throughout his career. When he’s not at Henderson, he’s spending time with his wife and four kids, maybe playing golf, or attending sporting events – he’s even been known to throw a little disc golf now and then. He’s able to do it all because he knows his priorities. By putting his family, employees, and clients first, he’s always doing the right thing for Henderson.
