COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this presentation is to examine the most recent version of the 2019 Triennial Edition of the Title 24 California Energy Code in the context of previous version as well as future versions of the code. This presentation will identify changes to scope, mandatory measures, and prescriptive requirements as well as discuss how those changes will impact a project’s path to compliance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Review history and scope of the Title 24 energy code and the future path towards net zero building requirements.
Understand the difference between the Title 24 part 6 (the energy code) and Title 24 part 11 (Calgreen) sections of the code.
Discuss the energy code sections that have been updated between the 2016 to 2019 energy codes.
Explore the difference between the prescriptive vs. performance compliance paths in the 2019 version.
