Refrigeration is a complex field that is always changing. That is why it is important to understand the fundamentals and how new technology builds upon what has been done in the past. This course reviews fundamentals of the refrigeration cycle and builds upon them through an introduction to transcritical carbon dioxide technology. It discusses various form factors of compressor racks, identifying advantages and disadvantages of each. Coordination tasks critical to a successful design are also discussed, along with recent trends and regulations in the refrigeration industry.
