Henderson Engineers Vice President and Director of Refrigeration Tony Welter has accepted a two-year term on the ASHRAE Refrigeration Committee. The 12-person committee helps guide technical standards of refrigeration design in the industry. Welter will be part of those collective discussions and decision-making processes.
“It is an honor to be selected for this position as there are only a select few experts in the industry on this panel,” Welter said. “It shows that Henderson has a voice and is viewed as a thought leader for the field of refrigeration. This further solidifies Henderson’s standing in the industry and it will help us stay up-to-date with all the upcoming changes. I look forward to sharing what I learn from this distinguished group with my team and colleagues.”
The mission of the Refrigeration Committee is to drive direction in refrigeration design, methods, and construction. Members of the committee come from multiple industries involved with refrigeration.
Welter’s appointment begins at the ASHRAE Annual Conference from June 23-27 in Houston, Texas. He originally became an ASHRAE member in 2007.
Since joining Henderson in 2001, Welter has provided his refrigeration expertise and has helped shape supermarket trends for many top grocery retailers. Working directly with owners, architects, and refrigeration manufacturers, Welter has helped develop new technologies and design improvements. He and his team also provide design development studies to help clients save costs.
Backed by ongoing research and decades of experience, Welter is sought after to speak nationally to committees and refrigeration and grocery conferences. He has presented at Emerson E360, Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Energy, and to the Sporlan’s Supermarket Advisory Council. He has also completed numerous trainings with leading architects and clients.
