Henderson Engineers announces the hire of Maggie Curcio as the firm’s first—ever chief people officer (CPO). Curcio brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to the company, most recently serving as vice president of human resources and organization development for DST Systems in Kansas City, Missouri.

The CPO position was created by Henderson to further invest in the growth and development of the firm’s more than 740 employees in its 12 offices across the United States. In this new role, Curcio is responsible for overseeing the HR department, driving company culture initiatives, growing the diversity and inclusion programs, and focusing on employee and leadership development.

The addition of Curcio to the CPO role reflects Henderson’s record—setting growth. The firm added more than 140 employees nationwide last year — the largest number of annual hires in the company’s history — and is on pace to break that record in 2018. Of those hires, nearly half are the result of current employee referrals. Henderson is known for putting people first, as the firm recognizes a correlation in employee growth and development and business growth overall.
