Netflix House
Netflix House redefines immersive entertainment as a first-of-its-kind, permanent yet ever-changing venue where fans can step inside the worlds of their favorite shows and films. Located in Philadelphia and Dallas, these large-scale entertainment venues combine immersive experiences, themed dining, engaging retail displays, gaming environments, and social gathering spaces within reimagined big box footprints. Designed to evolve alongside Netflix’s expanding content library, each location provides a flexible platform for new experiences, live programming, and fan engagement.
The project was driven by a growing demand for location-based experiential entertainment and the opportunity to revitalize underutilized retail real estate. Netflix sought to create a permanent destination that extends its storytelling beyond the screen and into local neighborhoods, while demonstrating how large-format retail spaces can be transformed into vibrant entertainment hubs. The result is a first-of-its-kind concept that blends entertainment, hospitality, retail, and adaptive reuse into a single destination.
Henderson partnered with the project team to provide engineering expertise for a highly complex and continually evolving vision. Unlike traditional entertainment developments, Netflix House required an engineering approach that balanced flexibility, performance, and long-term adaptability throughout the design process.
Our engineers worked closely with Netflix team members, architects, and specialty consultants to identify infrastructure requirements, assess operational impacts, and develop systems capable of supporting changing experiences and future modifications. By maintaining close coordination across disciplines, the team delivered solutions that supported the project’s ambitious experiential goals while meeting safety, code, and constructability requirements.
The completed venues – now open at King of Prussia mall and Galleria Dallas – showcase how entertainment and engineering can work together to create entirely new destination experiences. Through thoughtful planning and adaptable building systems, Henderson helped transform dormant space into immersive entertainment environments designed to engage visitors year-round and evolve alongside one of the world’s most recognized entertainment brands.
