HALL Park Hotel, Autograph Collection
Henderson Engineers partnered with the developer and multiple architectural teams on the new Autograph Collection Hotel in the heart of HALL Park, a 162-acre mixed-use development. The boutique hotel features 156 guest suites within a 13-story high-rise that combines a six-story guest tower and an office tower above a shared podium. This complex arrangement required thoughtful building systems engineering to balance performance, safety, and the luxury experience guests expect from a flagship hospitality brand.
From the earliest stages, we provided consulting and analysis for MEP design, focusing on how to integrate and isolate building systems between the interconnected hotel and office components. This included developing creative smoke control strategies to ensure safety while maintaining operational independence between uses.
The hotel includes a variety of high-end amenities: a rooftop pool deck with sweeping views, more than 13,000 SF of indoor and outdoor event space, a fitness center, restaurant, bar, and a patio overlooking the community park. To support these amenities, we engineered MEP solutions tailored to the challenges of vertical dense development.
The project showcased several innovative engineering solutions. We developed a sustainable MEP system approach that reduced overall energy use while accommodating the diverse demands of both hospitality and office operations. The commercial kitchen was designed with advanced, high-efficiency ventilation systems that required complex integration with the building’s mechanical infrastructure due to the constraints of the high-rise. To protect the hotel’s luxury finishes, many of which were highly sensitive to moisture, the team collaborated with the contractor to implement non-standard operation sequences during construction, allowing proper curing and ensuring the design vision was achieved. In addition, smart HVAC sequencing and ambient monitoring technology were used to optimize conditions for operable façades, enabling smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining the integrity of interior environments. Through innovative engineering solutions, Henderson Engineers helped deliver a luxury hotel that blends hospitality, sustainability, and technical performance. The result is a landmark addition to HALL Park that provides guests with an unforgettable stay while setting a new standard for high-rise mixed-use development.
