Wayfair Eden's Plaza

Wayfair has built themselves a formidable reputation as a trusted online furniture retailer. Though, as they have grown, they have wanted to foster a more personable experience with their customers and offer an in-store shopping experience. The Wayfair Eden’s Plaza location will do just that and will be the first of its kind for Wayfair. The goal for the project was for Wayfair to pioneer a new type of store that they hope to replicate in more locations in the future. Henderson Engineers was brought on to provide building systems design and we have been happy to help guide them through the process for opening a new, customer-facing store.

A key area of coordination for this project was with audio/video systems. In order to provide shoppers with a modern shopping experience and live up to their technologically savvy reputation as an online retailer, there will be several display screens throughout the store. Displays will feature store maps, advertisements, promotional videos, and logos. Additional A/V scope included cameras, speakers, and data storage locations. There will also be interactive experiences spanning multiple departments, making it easy and fun for shoppers to test fixtures and décor.

Additional coordination was required for unique aesthetic features as well. The café will feature a live tree which of course has specialized plumbing and lighting needs in order to thrive. Externally, the building will feature a large, welcoming entrance with thoughtful landscaping and a large sidewalk, and will of course have Wayfair purple walls so everyone knows they are about to walk into the space of a premier furniture retailer.
