Caesars Superdome Improvements - New Orleans Saints

Having survived and thrived post Hurricane Katrina and the resultant improvements that were made to the Superdome, the state of Louisiana embarked in 2019 on an ambitious plan to cement the iconic structure as a top-level venue long into the coming decades. A four-year phased renovation will transform the fan experience and refresh nearly every corner of the historic building.

New club and end zone suite experiences at field level, a revamped vertical transportation system and philosophy, upgraded NFL and auxiliary locker rooms, multi-level corner super vomitories and ADA platforms, and a new in-house commissary have all recently been completed and brought on-line. Still to come will be suite level upgrades, bowl sound system replacements, sideline clubs, augmented and re-visioned food and beverage concepts, dazzling side-line and corner atria, and spectacular standing room only decks with stunning views of the field below.

Henderson Engineers is proud to be part of the team that is pushing through the complications of COVID and bringing this rebuilt and re-imagined venue to New Orleans and the surrounding region. Henderson is Engineer of Record for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection upgrades associated with these renovations, which are driving a complete replacement and redesign for the medium voltage electrical distribution within this 2,000,000 SF building, a new mechanical smoke evacuation and control system to enable smoke protected egress from the bowl and concourses, and an automatic sprinkler system that will extend to all reaches of the building and afford full protection.

Come August of 2024, the Caesars Superdome will once again take its place on the top line of America’s premier sporting venues, serving as the host of the Superbowl at the end of that NFL season.
