As the needs and size of their congregation changed over the years, B’nai Jehudah set to address various programming, security, and system maintenance needs to accommodate their growth without expanding their footprint. After completing a programming analysis, it was decided that they would move forward with a new gathering hall, an expanded social hall and chapel, a new small prayer space, and renovated staff offices, as well as increased security and upgraded technology throughout the building. Additional spaces within the project scope include a new reception area, community commons area, new restrooms, widened corridors, and the expansion of the social hall to serve as a multi-purpose space.

B’nai Jehudah partnered with Henderson Engineers for the necessary updates to their building’s systems. Rooftop units and associated ductwork serving the building were replaced with adequately sized equipment to accommodate the larger air volumes. Our architectural lighting team worked with the design and construction team to provide a lighting design that enhanced the architecture and represented the Jewish faith while maintaining budget. The center light cluster in the remodeled chapel represents the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Henderson also developed the audio-video systems design for the social hall and chapel as well as acoustical consulting for items including reverberation, echo, and noise criteria ratings throughout the building.
