Polsinelli Polsinelli

Polsinelli experienced exponential growth and decided to build a new headquarters to house their 450 employees. The project called for tearing down and rebuilding a 10-story office building with an additional six floors of underground parking. Due to its expedited schedule, multiple construction packages were issued.

The majority of this high-rise building is occupied by Polsinelli PC with restaurant and retail spaces on the first floor and a small office for an additional tenant on the second floor. The HVAC system includes water-cooled chillers, dedicated outdoor air systems with energy recovery enthalpy wheel, and variable air volume air handlers with electric reheat. Pressurization systems for the stairwells and elevators shafts were included.

Henderson Engineers designed ventilation systems for the garage and energy modeling services to assist with system selections and LEED certification. Plumbing was provided for the core area and for wet columns. Plumbing systems included heat-traced grease waste was provided for the restaurant areas on the first floor. There are three medium voltage primary electrical services at 13.2 KV with unit substations. A generator was provided on site for life safety and standby loads. Multiple automatic transfer switches were installed. Henderson provided design for interior, exterior, façade and egress lighting. A new sprinkler system with standpipes and a fire pump was installed. Henderson was also responsible for fire alarm design, including all code requirement for a high rise building.
