Phoenix Central Avenue Transit Station Phoenix Central Avenue Transit Station

Henderson Engineers provided construction administration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the refurbishment of this 4,500 SF transit facility. The engineering design services for this project included determining the extent of improvements required for the North Transit Facility, resolving any code issues, identifying and addressing the facility and operational needs of Public Transit, and phasing the work since this facility is operational 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

This project is on track for obtaining LEED EB O&M Silver certification. Sustainable components include premium efficiency HVAC equipment, as well as utilizing natural ventilation and evaporation cooling. LED lighting is used throughout the building and site exclusively for low energy consumption without sacrificing light levels or light quality and reducing maintenance costs. Stainless steel vandal resistant ultra flow plumbing fixtures are being utilized in all public areas. The project is estimated to reduce energy costs by over 50% compared to the existing energy costs. Additionally, Henderson analyzed and designed the buildings integrated photovoltaic system.
