A chosen retirement destination for many, including those of our veteran community, Flagstaff, Arizona started to see a housing need for aging veterans. Plans were made by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services to create a new nursing facility where residents can thrive while they age.

Henderson Engineers provided building systems designs for this new facility. The home consists of five separate 12-bed long-term care units and a 20-bed memory care home unit. To add to the resident experience, the home also includes such amenities as a hair salon, gift shop, meditation room, and laundry services. Residents are able to experience the outdoors from their personal patio spaces, form connections to other residents within community gathering spaces, and personalize their own living quarters to make them uniquely home. The facility was designed to achieve LEED Silver.

At Henderson, our vision is to be the firm that builds a better world. Projects providing community, safety, and needed care like this one to the veteran men and women who served our country really makes us proud.
