Henderson Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire and life safety design services for this approximately 250,000 SF, $28.5 million basketball arena renovation at the University of South Florida which is LEED Silver Certified. Key components of this project included a complete renovation of the existing basketball arena including seating for approximately 10,200 spectators. The renovation included a new seating bowl with new locker room facilities, a student club and a courtside court on the event floor level as well as a premium seating club integrated into the new seats along the north side of the arena on the concourse level. In addition to the new seating, the renovation included a new smoke evacuation system, upgrades to the arena’s sound system, new center hung scoreboard and video screen, new elevator, concession stands, restrooms, and player and spectator support facilities.
