The Wing – Chicago is the latest in the evolution of coworking and community spaces. Located in the West Loop’s developing Fulton Market district, this womens-focused membership club empowers its members to connect with other professionals while offering ways to engage with their community. Similar to its counterparts in New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., The Wing delivers a number of signature amenities, such as a beauty room, private lactation room, a ‘ladies library’ and their iconic Perch Café, a flexible dining space.

Committed to The Wing’s desire to balance aesthetics with comfort, Henderson Engineers delivered a fashionable space through creative design, utilizing the latest in high-end, high-functionality systems. Our team featured the openness of the space by routing plumbing and piping systems over high ceilings and using a VRF HVAC system with streamlined duct work, resulting in minimal noise transfer.

Henderson’s team also helped coordinate a lighting design that enhanced the space, including the use of geometric, high-efficiency fixtures. We also prioritized the placement of electrical outlets and validated AV/IT rough-ins to provide the flexibility necessary to promote engagement between workers in a co-working space.

Through a shared vision of advancing social and economic opportunity for women, Henderson helped bring The Wing in The Windy City to life.
