At Henderson Engineers, we take our office supplies seriously. Almost as serious as our design services on Office Depot’s 600,000 SF distribution warehouse.
As experts in warehouse and large scale designs, we provided building systems provisions for automated inventory controls and more productive distribution. This includes systems to support motorized sorting conveyers, robotic inventory sorting, and robotic forklift battery chargers. The warehouse also includes 20,000 SF of office and support spaces for the several hundred people in Office Depot’s employ.
Always keeping a safe and stable production environment in mind, we outfitted this distribution center with reliable standby power systems to maintain approximately 70 percent of operation during unexpected outages. Efficient lighting controls were designed utilizing high-bay occupancy sensors to help save energy and keep costs low.
This LEED Gold certified project was a consolidation of three existing distribution centers for this national office supplies retailer to assist with supply chain improvements.
