Henderson Engineers conducted electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and information technology engineering services on this design-build project involving a new, Fixed-Base Operation (FBO) private terminal located at Hobby Airport. Review and comment of the subcontractor’s mechanical engineering design was also provided by Henderson.
The project scope includes a new 12,000 SF building to expand the existing FBO as well as the renovation of an existing ramp. The building contains a flight planning room, theater room, pilot’s lounge, conference rooms, high-volume lobby, offices, support functions, and second floor outdoor patios.
The electrical system consists of recessed fluorescent lighting in the offices and dimmable lighting in the conference, lounge, and theater rooms. General exterior lighting for the building and automobile parking lots was also provided. Henderson’s Information Technology (IT) services included design of a structured cabling system, telecommunication grounding and bonding systems, network hardware, and network electronics.
