Harvey Dondero Elementary School Addition & Renovation - Clark County SD

The mission of Harvey Dondero Elementary school has always been to ensure academic achievement and provide a safe learning environment that promotes social and intellectual growth for its students and in 2017 they accomplished just that. Henderson Engineers is proud to have supported the growth the area is experiencing and be a part of Harvey Dondero’s mission by providing building systems design services that would have a positive impact on this school’s learning environments. The project included a 14-classroom addition with low voltage upgrades on Wi-Fi, data outlets, projectors, and audio-video systems. To help on energy conservation, we added LED fixtures with daylight and occupancy sensors along with a chiller replacement.

The highlight of the project was the modified standalone multi-purpose room that is home to an open area where the students can play basketball when they aren’t using it to enjoy their lunch breaks. The room is equipped with its own RTU system, a main stage, back flip projector that serves as the focal point, and a medium-sized comprehensive kitchen. This addition and new multi-purpose space are learning environments that truly serve each individual students’ needs when it comes to working hard and playing hard, a concept we whole-heartedly support.
