Everlane Everlane

Strategic about their expansion into the brick-and-mortar world, Everlane knew their physical locations had to perfectly complement the brand’s e-commerce identity. Known for their direct-to-consumer modern basics, the digitally-native store opened their first Los Angeles location on the boulevard of Abbot Kinney. The store consists of an open retail sales floor, fitting room, back of house storage, a single occupancy restroom, and employee break room.

After being brought on to provide an initial due diligence survey and report, Everlane partnered with Henderson Engineers to also create a building systems design that would seamlessly integrate into Everlane’s clean and minimalist vision. Throughout the store’s ceiling, there are exposed and suspended wood joists which created a mechanical void for routing utilities including distribution of ductwork and diffusers and exhaust. The electrical system design for the store’s lighting controls and circuiting are also compliant with Title 24.

With design beginning October 2018 and a permit set submitted on January 2019, the project finished on time and was able to meet a store open date of August 2019.

Now that the Venice store is completed, the Henderson team is working on additional locations in Boston, Cambridge, Chicago, Seattle, and Walnut Creek.
