Henderson Engineers is designing East Olympic Middle School in Los Angeles. When the new construction is complete, it will be home to nearly 500 students. The school will have 16 classrooms, as well as spaces for music, dance, art, and robotics. There will also be two special education rooms, a double-height, multipurpose room, and offices for administration.
Because of the variety of learning spaces, East Olympic Middle School will need a mechanical system that provides zoning and flexibility for different spaces. As a solution, Henderson is utilizing a variable refrigerant system with a dedicated outside air unit that also works with the project budget, projected utility costs, and future maintenance needs of the school. We’re helping design a collaborative learning environment to help students stay ahead of the class today, and get the skills, habits, and characteristics they need, for success tomorrow.
