CareNow Urgent Care Clinics

CareNow Urgent Care provides on-demand healthcare services at convenient locations across the US. CareNow relied on Henderson Engineers to provide design services for 19 free-standing, immediate care facilities. Because most of the locations were renovations of an existing building, Henderson was challenged to design building system components that would work within the physical constraints of those structures in an economical manner. To meet the project needs, Henderson conducted pre-design site surveys to identify space constraints in advance, so the team could efficiently progress through design, delivering a successful project each time.

Henderson incorporated engineered HVAC systems utilizing existing components when feasible and provided independent zone control of diverse areas. We also coordinated electrical service upgrades and distribution modifications with local utility companies in order to comply with NEC 517 wiring requirement for patient areas. Occupancy sensors in lobbies, restrooms, and administrative areas were used for energy code compliance. Technology design services included IT room layout, room elevations, and the design of distribution incorporating the owner’s standards.
