AT&T Center Renovation - San Antonio Spurs

Completed in 2002, the arena is a multi-purpose facility designed to accommodate the NBA's Spurs, the WNBA's Stars, the AHL's Rampage, and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

Since its opening, it has also welcomed more than 10 million guests to concerts and events. Henderson Engineers provided engineering services for the renovation project to modernize the arena and add amenities.

The project included sports lighting upgrades for the seating bowl and MEP design for building expansions of the VIP entries, main entry, offices, and team store. Renovations of clubs, restaurants, and bars included new and renovated MEP to support additional food service equipment and layouts. The concourse lighting and concessions were also upgraded. Facility infrastructure improvements included a new water softener, domestic water heating modifications, and electrical redundancy upgrades.

In addition to the renovation project, the AT&T Center and Henderson Building Solutions partnered for an assessment of building operations. As a result, Henderson Building Solutions implemented more than 20 energy-saving initiatives, including chilled water upgrades, attention to air handling units, and the adoption of LED lighting throughout the 18,000-seat arena. Renovations were funded annually by the previous year's energy savings.
