Patriot Place Operations Building - New England Patriots

Leading up to the New England Patriot’s first preseason game, Henderson Engineers collaborated with a long-standing partner to complete the construction of a new four-story office building adjacent to Gillette Stadium. The owners decided that with the site being only a few feet from where fans enter Gillette Stadium, construction would have to take place when fans wouldn’t be around. By leveraging the off-season window for the construction, which traditionally takes around 24-30 months, the team had an aggressive six-month timeline. To adhere to the strict schedule, contractors were brought on during the early design phases to assess construction feasibility and costs. They also procured certain materials, including HVAC equipment, which required much earlier planning by the engineers. The team actively utilized a collaborative dashboard to facilitate communication, ensuring contractors were informed of all design changes and status updates. Additionally, it helped manage their responsibilities and maintain alignment among team members.

Henderson Engineers provided the core and shell for all four floors, encompassing future football operations and office space within the building. In the late stages of construction, the owner requested to future-proof the building for additional floors, anticipating potential future expansion needs. Henderson was able to make the necessary adjustments within the specified timeline and have the space largely ready for the start of the season.
