TVH Parts Co. is a worldwide provider of replacement parts and accessories for material handling, industrial, and agricultural machinery. To accommodate their growing staff and operations, their North American headquarters underwent an office expansion and warehouse addition focused on collaboration and flexibility.  Design highlights include the two-story atrium, in-house daycare and café, and additional meeting areas. The new atrium features various biophilic designs such as expansive windows offering natural light, a large living green wall, and water fountains, which collectively bring the outdoors in. With the atrium’s stadium seating, the steps also become a gathering place and a location to host large group presentations. The TVH east warehouse addition increased capacity through utilitarian pallet storage and helped TVH Parts to continually meet their customer’s demands.

Henderson Engineers performed existing site observations in order to determine the best way to feed the addition from the existing utilities on site. This was an unconditioned warehouse addition with gas unit heaters for freeze protection of the new sprinkler risers serving the high-piled storage racks. This addition also included the use of siphonic interior roof drains, which run flat within the warehouse, to minimize obstruction to the clear height of the space. The primary roof drains were tied in underground to the new site storm lines, while the secondary roof drains daylighted to grade outside of the addition.
