With a mission of providing a safe, fun, and transformative experience for the surrounding residents, the Excelsior Springs Community Center promotes a lifestyle that brings families and community members together through fitness, social activities, sports, and community-focused events. As a firm that focuses on creating enriching environments for all, Henderson Engineers was proud to be a part of designing the systems that help bring this building to life.

This facility included close coordination of MEPF systems with open ceiling architectural concepts to complement the overall concept of the building while integrating the highly functional systems. Systems provided include high-efficiency mechanical systems with energy recovery, ventilation control, and integrated digital controls system. The HVAC system for the natatorium satisfies required space temperature while recovering heat from compressors to maintain pool water temperature, humidity-control, uniform air distribution, and condensation control in highly corrosive environments. The electrical systems include lighting design with lighting controls and special direct/indirect lighting in the natatorium and fitness/aerobics areas. Lighting in the natatorium and throughout the building was closely coordinated with the architectural concept of the building to provide a consistent experience for the occupants.
