Children's Hospital Behavioral Health - KVC Health System Children's Hospital Behavioral Health - KVC Health System

Founded in 1970, KVC Hospitals has aided children and their families for more than four decades by providing care to those in need. With a presence spanning five states, the organization offers a safe space where pediatric patients can get the necessary treatment and support to thrive in everyday life.

Dedicated to creating environments where people can reach their full potential, Henderson Engineers was honored to provide code and life safety consulting services for the new KVC Children’s Hospital. The facility, consisting of 54 inpatient beds, exam rooms, seclusion rooms, and a gym, is the largest provider of psychiatric and behavioral health services for Kansas children and adolescents outside of the Kansas City metro area. Working with the City of Wichita and the Office of the State Fire Marshal, our team of experts created a code footprint (life safety plan) that met both the International Building Code as well as the NFPA 101 – Life Safety Code.

With a mission to enrich and enhance the lives of children and their families, KVC Wichita Children’s Hospital puts the care in healthcare. We’re glad to have seen this first-hand and to have had a role in this monumental project.
