Passenger Terminal World Magazine

James Dietz, aviation practice director at Henderson Engineers, recently spoke with Passenger Terminal World magazine about the new $1.5 billion single terminal at Kansas City International Airport (MCI). Henderson served as lead engineer for the project, which opened in February 2023 and became the first and largest LEED v4 GOLD BD+C: NC certified terminal/concourse project in the Midwestern United States and just the second in the entire country. Dietz’s interview touched on various approaches that Henderson undertook to help meet the facility’s sustainability goals including designing an all-electric power system for airport operations.
