In the Dec. 21 version of the Hiawatha World, Henderson Engineers was covered as Theatre Atchison announced its design team to bring the former Royal Theatre in Atchison, Kansas, back to life. Henderson was named the engineer of record for the project that will once again be named Fox Theatre. The design team will also include WDM Architects based out of Wichita, Kansas.
According to the article, “Henderson Engineers is a worldwide leader in entertainment venue design, including acoustics and architectural lighting, as well as standard mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Their firm is involved with active movie theater developments in Boston, Miami, and Hawaii. Locally, their team engineered the Cinetopia Theatre at the Prairiefire entertainment district in Overland Park. Henderson also provided engineering services for the north end zone expansion at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the DeBruce Center at Allen Fieldhouse, which displays the original Naismith Rules of Basketball, and the Atchison YMCA/Cray Community Center.”
