Josh Thede, an acoustical consultant at Henderson Engineers, is a recipient of the 2022 40 Under 40 award from Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine. The notable trade publication grants the yearly accolade to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals ages 40 and younger who display a mixture of outstanding personal and professional achievements.
Since joining Henderson in 2016, Thede has rapidly risen through the ranks from a junior level acoustical consultant to a technical manager. He has collaborated with countless architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to achieve the desired architectural acoustics and noise control goals for a wide variety of projects across the United States, including more than a dozen LEED-certified schools. In addition to being a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Thede holds a master’s degree in architectural engineering, a LEED AP BD+C certification, and a WELL AP credential.
Outside of work, Thede serves as the chairperson for the Sustainability Commission for the Kansas City suburb of Mission, Kan.; is a member of the Transportation Council for Johnson County, Kan.; is a longtime member of the Central Plains chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC); and more.
