Henderson Engineers Healthcare Practice Director/Vice President Mark Chrisman participated in a Consulting-Specifying Engineer MEP Roundtable on best practices for designing government and military buildings. Chrisman has vast experience working on these types of civic projects as a fire and life safety engineer.
He noted that he is seeing technology play a major role in these building systems as well as the implementation of infection control strategies surrounding COVID-19. He also mentioned that he continues to see a push for modular construction and prefabrication that will allow for faster and safer building processes.
In addition to leading Henderson’s healthcare practice and coordinating strategy nationwide, Chrisman has designed healthcare environments for some of the biggest names in the industry, providing technical expertise on fire protection and code consulting. He holds three engineering degrees – including a Ph.D. – from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he has been featured as an outstanding alumnus.
